Title: Rosy Cole's Memoir Explosion

Author: Sheila Greenwald

The book Rosy Cole's Memoir Explosion is a "heartbreaking story about losing friends, annoying family, and ruining romance. When a girl named Rosy Cole gets assigned a project to write about the most interesting person in her family, she decides to write about herself (a memoir). Her older sister, Pippa tells her that she going to need a book on how to write a memoir. In an attempt to be as thorough as possible, Rosy follows the "eight points of a good memoir" outlined in the book. However, Rosy goes too far by trying to get Donald (her friend's older brother) to tell her his innermost feelings about her and ends up breaking their friendship. She also wrote a memoir for her friends using the pictures they had left behind from the workshop she held (which had gone terribly wrong). When they read it, they got mad at her for exaggerating their stories and accused her of making them look bad and herself look good. It was only after Rosy wrote the true story that they forgave her.

This was not my favorite book during the challenge, in fact, I found it rather sad because Rosy's friends got mad at her for exaggerating their stories and didn't talk to her for while. Rosy was very sad and lonely during that time. I feel bad for her, I can't imagine what it would feel like if all my friends were mad at me and didn't want to talk to me. That would be the worst! I think the moral of the story is to be truthful and considerate of other people's feelings.
